Dale Braley, 95, of Newton died Friday, March 11, 2005, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Timothy Braun, pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Des Moines, officiating. Burial will be at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will be available from 1 to 2 p.m. Memorials will be accepted in his name.

The son of Elmer Z. Braley and Nora Lee Smith, he was born March 19, 1909, in Kellogg. He graduated from Kellogg High School. On June 27, 1946, he married Margaret Ruth Orcutt in Kellogg. He was a shipping foreman for Midwest Manufacturing Company in Kellogg and retired in 1972. He was a member of Kellogg Christian Church.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Betty Orcutt of Saline, Mich.; five nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and great-nephews; many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and one great-great-great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sisters, Florence Young and Berdine Bates; a brother, Ross; two nieces; and a great-niece.
