MONROE — Norma Breckenridge, 57, of Monroe died Monday, June 13, 2005, at Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Monroe Presbyterian Church. Burial will take place in Silent City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The family has designated that memorials be given to the Monroe Fire Department or Hospice of Pella Comfort House, and online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com .

The daughter of Cecil I. and Opal A. (Grimes) Miller, she was born April 29, 1948, in Des Moines. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1966. On July 11, 1990, she married Roger Breckenridge in Marion County. She worked as a cook and waitress throughout her working days, most recently at the Monroe Maid Rite. She was a member of the Monroe Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, enjoyed arts and crafts and working in her gardens.

She is survived by her husband; her children, Bill (Deniece) Hilligas of Pella, Angie (Henry) Van Rees of Reasnor, Marty (Sandy) Breckenridge of Monroe, Wes (Kris) Breckenridge of Newton, Justin (Randee) Breckenridge of Monroe and Brian (Stephanie) Breckenridge, also of Monroe; her mother, Opal Miller of Monroe; 23 grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Dick) Livesay of Van Meter; and a brother, Larry "Butch" (Donna) Miller of Runnells.

Preceding her in death were her father and a daughter, Sandra.
