Pearl W. Ware, 93, of Newton died of COPD Saturday, Feb. 21, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of John and Anna (Ranken) Gunther, she was born Sept. 20, 1910, in Benson, Ill. She was a homemaker and was married to Vernon Ware in Des Moines. She lived in Newton, Colfax and Prairie City.

Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn J. Ware and Judy A. Ware, both of Newton; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Fine Nodsckow; her second husband; and four brothers and sisters.
