Marjorie Rinehart, 83, of Newton died Sunday, Feb. 8, at her home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the rev. Gene Bryant of First Christian Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper county or to the Moose Lodge No. 923 and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Loren Isaac and Aura Alice (Dickey) Hegwood, she was born Oct. 24, 1920, in Knoxville. She graduated from Dallas High School in 1938. On Oct. 22, 1940, she married James C. Rinehart in Ottumwa and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church, Philo Christo Circle, Moose Lodge, past member of the Ikettes and Jasper County Senior Citizens.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy and Shirley Rinehart and Lynn and Nancy Rinehart, all of Newton, and Charles and Sheryl Rinehart of Ankeny; one daughter and son-in-law, LaVonne Herndon of Osceola; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, daughter-in-law, Connie Beaderstadt, and three brothers and a sister.

Interment: at Newton Union Cemetery

Those left to honor Marjorie's memory are her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy and Shirley Rinehart of Newton, Charles and Sheryl Rinehart of Ankeny, Iowa and Lynn and Nancy Rinehart of Newton; 1 daughter, LaVonne Herndon of Osceola, Iowa; her 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and her 9 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James in 1985, Grandson, Troy Herndon in 2003, Daughter-in-law, Connie Beaderstadt, 3 brothers, and a sister.

Marjorie was a graduate of Dallas High School in Dallas, Iowa in 1938.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Philo Christo Circle, Moose Lodge, past member of the Ikettes, and Jasper County Senior Citizens.

Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County or to the Moose Lodge No. 923 may be left at the funeral home.
