CELINA, Ohio -- Wayne E. Rexroat, 81, of Celina, Ohio, formerly of Colfax, died Saturday, Jan. 3, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Lehman Funeral Home in Celina, Ohio, with the Rev. Robert Metheny officiating. Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery in Celina.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted to Celina Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice.

The son of Richard and Alma (Acton) Rexroat, he was born July 5, 1922, in Colfax. He was class president in 1941 and graduated from Colfax High School. On April 17, 1946, he married Eunice Kile. He was owner of former Western Auto and Ace Hardware stores in Celina. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, American Legion Post in Celina, former city councilman.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, sue and Ron Hammons and Cheryl and Dave Lipp, all of Celina; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Flossie Rexroat of Pocatell, Idaho; and two sisters, Dorothy and Darrold Lauber of Brownsville, Texas, and Alma an d Al Daubenschmidt of Venice, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Raymond and George Rexroat.
