Bonnie Ann Northcutt, 60, of Newton died Saturday, Jan. 31, in New Sharon.

Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral home in Newton with Chaplain Merle Smith of Skiff Medical Center and Rev. Phil DeBoef of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles.

Visitation will be Wednesday after 3 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials in her name may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of William "Pete" Armstrong and Ella Fern Cole, she was born Dec. 7, 1943 in St. Charles. She graduated from high school in Portland, Ore. She lived in Winterset for one year and in Marshalltown for 12 years before moving to Newton in 1978. She worked as a custodian for the Newton Community School District for 16 years, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed her grandchildren and doing crafts.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Staci Osborn of Cherokee; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi and John Britton of Montezuma, Rhonda and Kevin Kubli of New Sharon and Misty and Steven Pierce of Baxter; nine grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bob and Gladys Armstrong of Portland, Ore. and Wayne and Carolyn Armstrong of Arkansas; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Hattie O'Brien of Kansas City, Kan., Beulah and Paul Veasman of Indianola, Shirley and Eugene Addy of Marshalltown and Janet and Donnie Strable of St. Charles; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Creed Gibson; a grandson, Hunter Pierce, in infancy; a brother, Harley Armstrong; and two sisters, Dorothy McClure and Fern Lyman.
