James Harry Mouzakes, 80, of 1800 S. Fourth St. E. died of heart failure Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Heritage Manor Care Center in Newton.

Memorial services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Ken Van Loon of Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery. Memorials will be accepted in his name to Willowbrook Adult Day Services.

The son of Harry and Anna (Stark) Mouzakes, he was born Nov. 10, 1923, in Champaign, Ill. He was a graduate of Northern High School in Illinois. He was a factory worker at Ex-Cel-O, Ford Company and Brigges Manufacturing, both in Detroit, Mich. He enjoyed stamp collecting, traveling and enjoyed spending time at Willowbrook Adult Day Services in Newton. He was a resident of Detroit, Mich., and became a resident of Newton in 1998.

Survivors include special friends, Faye LaPage and Denise Holdefer, both of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
