June 19, 1964 - February 15, 2004 Newton, Iowa

Visitation: Friends may call after 5 P.M., Wednesday, Febraury 18, 2004, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M on Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at the funeral home.

Funeral Service: 11 A.M., Thursday, February 19, 2004 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.

Those left to honor Jerry's memory are his wife, Dawn of Newton; 2 sons, Jon and Jacob Kendall of Newton; his daughter, Jessica Kendall of Newton; step-daughter, Crystal Shook of Newton; his mother and father-in-law, Barbara and Larry Snook of Mountain View, Missouri; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Sally Kendall of Aliba, Iowa and Chad Kendall of Iowa City, Iowa; and his 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Venita and Chuck Williams of Albia, Iowa and Heather Campbell of Willow Springs, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, father, Jim Kendall, brother, Scott Kendall, and nephew, Thane Ross Kendall-Kelso.

Jerry graudated from Alton High School in Alton, Missouri in 1982.

He was a member of American Legion Post 111, VFW Post 1655, and the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League.

Memorials to the John Stoddard Cancer Center at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa or the University of Nebraska Medical Center Foundation for the Leid Transplant Center may be left at the funeral home.

Jerry Lee Kendall, 39, of 2305 E. 19th St. N. died Sunday, Feb. 15, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Chaplain Merle Smith of Skiff Medical Center officiating. Cremation will follow the services.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the John Stoddard Cancer Center at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines or to the University of Nebraska Medical Center Foundation for the Leid Transplant Center and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Jimmie Kendall and Barbara White, he was born June 19, 1964, in Iowa City. He was a 1982 graduate of Alton High School in Alton, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Persian Gulf War. Prior to living in Newton, he lived in Monroe for three years and in Alton for six years. He became a resident of Newton in 1989. On March 30, 2002, he married Dawn J. (Bogue) Shook in Des Moines. He was a pipe fitter for the Maytag Company for 15 years and retired for medical reasons in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion Post 111, VFW Post 1655 and the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jon and Jacob Kendall, both of Newton; a daughter, Jessica Kendall of Newton; a step-daughter, Crystal Shook of Newton; his mother and step-father, Barbara and Larry Snook of Mountain View, Mo.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jimmy and Sally Kendall of Albia and Chad Kendall of Iowa City; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Venita and Chuck Williams of Albia and Heather Campbell of Willow Springs, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his father; a brother, Scott Kendall; and a nephew.
