COLFAX -- Sidney R. Jones, 89 of Colfax died Thursday, Feb. 19, at Careage of Newton.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 24 at 10 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax with the Rev. Paul Elliott officiating. The body was cremated. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements.

The family will greet friends following the burial with a coffee time at the church. Memorials may be given to the Howard Street Christian Church.

Sidney R. Jones was born Nov. 15, 1914, in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Ray & Dona (Morris) Jones. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in engineering and worked for, and retired from, Boeing in Everett, Wash. On Nov. 5, 1972, he married Jeanett Van Dusseldorp in Edmonds, Wash. He was a member of the Broadway Christian Church in Mesa, Ariz. He enjoyed cats, fishing and anything to do with airplanes.

Survivors include two step-sons, Eben Van Dusseldorp and his wife Mary of Colfax and Larry Van Dusseldorp and his wife Gail of Plantation, Fla.; a step-daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Van Dusseldorp in Colfax; nine step-grandchildren; 24 step-great-grandchildren, six step-great-great-grandchildren; two nieces and two great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister and brother-in-law, a stepson and a step-great-grandson.
