PRAIRIE CITY -- William J. "Junior " Findlow, 80, of Prairie City died Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Prairie City United Methodist Church with Pastor John Poe officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery south of Prairie City. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be held on today after noon at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Prairie City United Methodist Church.

The son of William M. and Edith B. (Hayes) Findlow, he was born Dec. 25, 1923, in Percy. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1941. On Oct. 6, 1942, he married Jean Mary Folck in Unionville, Mo.

A life long resident of the area, Mr. Findlow owned and operated Findlow Produce for many years. After he sold the business, he worked for the Prairie City Feed Center. He was a member of the Prairie City Lions Club, Preston Lodge No. 218 in Prairie City and a longtime member of the Prairie City Odd Fellows No. 144.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry and Dorothy Findlow of Monroe and John Findlow of Des Moines; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy M. Madole of Ankeny.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
