May 01, 1936 - February 14, 2004 Newton, Iowa

Visitation: Friends may call after 5 P.M., Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at the funeral home.

Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.

Interment: at Our Silent City Cemetery

Those left to honor Beulah's memory are her son, Jeff Coomer of Newton; daughter, Kathy Coomer of Newton; her 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Ron Jones of Newton; and 1 niece and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harley Coomer, and brother, Richard in infancy.

Beulah attended Kellogg Schools and later proudly obtained her GED.

She was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church in Kellogg, Iowa.

Memorials in Beulah's name may be left at the funeral home.

Beulah Mae Coomer, 67, of 2305 E. 19th St. N. died of pneumonia Saturday, Feb. 14, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Mike Johnson of the Carlisle Christian Church in Carlisle officiating. Burial will be at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted in her name and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Maynard and Helen (Randolph) Caulkins, she was born May 1, 1936, in Reasnor. She attended Kellogg schools and later obtained her GED. On Oct. 31, 1953, she married Harley Coomer at her parent's home in Kellogg. She was employed by Dairy Queen in Grinnell for 15 years.

Mrs. Coomer was a member of Kellogg Christian Church in Kellogg and enjoyed attending flea markets and crocheting. She also enjoyed her dog, Pickles.

Survivors include a son, Jeff Coomer of Newton; a daughter, Kathy Coomer of Newton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Ron Jones of Newton; and one niece and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Richard, in infancy.
