October 26, 1928 - February 20, 2004
West Des Moines, Iowa formerly of Newton, Iowa

Visitation: Friends may call from 1-5 P.M., Sunday, February 22, 2004, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 2-4 P.M., Sunday, February 22, 2004 at the funeral home.

Funeral Service: 11 A.M., Monday, February 23, 2004 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.

Interment: at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Those left to honor Jeannine's memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sabra Clancy of Elgin, Texas; daughter, Jill Smith of West Des Moines, Iowa; her 3 grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Emil and Hazel Allen of New Sharon, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wesley in 2000, and son-in-law, Kevin Smith.

Jeannine graduated from New Sharon High School in 1945.

She was a cook for the Newton Community School District, retiring in 1980. She had also worked for the Maytag Company and was a homemaker.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.

WEST DES MOINES -- Jeannine L. Clancy, 75, of West Des Moines, formerly of Newton, died Friday, Feb. 20, at Fountain West in West Des Moines.

Funeral services were held today at 11 a.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Jeff Neuman-Lee of Panther Creek Church of the Brethren in Adel officiating. Burial will be at Newton Memorial Cemetery in Newton.

Memorials will be accepted to the American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Ivyl and Adria (Latcham) Allen, she was born Oct. 26, 1928, in New Sharon. She graduated from New Sharon High School in 1945. On July 6, 1947, she married Wesley Clancy in Newton. She was a cook for the Newton Community School District and retired in 1980. She also worked for Maytag Company and was a homemaker. She was a former member of the UAW Auxiliary and enjoyed traveling, playing cards and board games and spending time with her family. She lived in Newton since 1945 and lived in West Des Moines since April 2003.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sabra Clancy of Elgin, Texas; a daughter, Jill Smith of West Des Moines; three grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Emil and Hazel Allen of New Sharon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son-in-law, Kevin Smith.
