DAVENPORT - Nancy E. Wright, 75, of Davenport, formerly of Newton, died Thursday, Oct. 30, at her home.

A memorial service was held Monday at Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport with the Rev. Charles L. Hollis officiating. Burial was at the Gass family plot at Oakview Cemetery in Albia.

Memorial contributions to the American Heart Association may be forwarded to Weerts Funeral Home.

The daughter of Pauline and Vaughn Gass, she was born June 3, 1928, in Albia. On Nov. 8, 1947, she married C. H. (Clancy) Wright in Newton, where they lived for 17 years. While raising two children, she and her husband lived in Dusseldorf, Germany, before settling in Iowa City. She was a member of the American Women's Club in Dusseldorf, and was employed as clerk of court in Iowa City. In 1974, she and her husband moved Davenport.

Mrs. Wright was active in interior design clubs, animal adoption organizations and hospital volunteer services.

She enjoyed writing poetry and was locally recognized as an interior decorator.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Dana Wright of Chicago, Ill., and Deborah Stephens of Birmingham, Ala.; and a brother, James Gass, Vallejo, Calif.
