Donald R. Wierschke, 38, of 400 N. 2nd Ave. E. died Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Fred Wierschke of Marion officiating. It private family burial will be held at a later date.

Friends may call Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in his name. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Carl F. and Clara (Arrowood) Wierschke, he was born Nov. 27, 1964, in Newton. He was a 1983 graduate of Newton Senior High School. He worked for Progress Industries and was a busboy for Ashby's Restaurant in the early 90's. He enjoyed bowling and photography.

Survivors include his mother; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Debbie Wierschke of Marion, Mark Wierschke and Michael Wierschke, both of Newton; Jesse Wierschke of Texas and Glenn and Tina Wierschke of Waukee; and a niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father and a niece.
