GRINNELL - Dorothy Stepp, 89, of Grinnell, formerly of Kellogg, died Thursday, Jan. 16, at her home.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell with the Rev, William Reynolds, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after noon Sunday at the funeral home where the family will be present from 2 until 4 p.m. A scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Kellogg Historical Society or to St. Mary’s Parish Foundation.

The daughter of James A. and Mary Frances (Duggan) Hotchkin, she was born on March 14, 1913, in Grinnell. She was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School with the Class of 1931. On Oct. 31, 1932, she married Proctor Stepp in Rock Island, Ill. The couple lived near Kellogg, where they farmed and she was a homemaker and cared for her handicapped son. She moved to Grinnell in 2002 and resided at Brookside South.

Mrs. Stepp was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell and had been a board member of the Kellogg Historical Society. She enjoyed reading and being out-of-doors.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, a son, three brothers and two sisters.
