PRAIRIE CITY - Harold Lee Roberts, 75, of Prairie City died of cardiac arrest Monday, Jan. 20, at Trinity Center at Luther Park in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Prairie City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jay Robinson (nephew) officiating. Burial will be held at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City with military services presented by the Booth DeVries Post of the American Legion. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City is handling arrangements.

Friends may call afternoon Thursday at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted to the American Heart Association or to Alzheimer's Fund.

The son of Ralph Homer and Mabel Bess (Riley) Roberts, he was born May 17, 1927, in Prairie City. He graduated from Prairie City High School in 1945. On Nov. 23, 1947, he married Betty Louise Robinson in Colfax. He was co-owner of Robert Brothers Company Hardware in Prairie City.

Mr. Roberts was a member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church, Preston Masonic Lodge and Za Ga Zig Shrine.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Annette Roberts of Runnells; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Rick Berkey of Newton; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Burns and Louise Steenhoek, both of Prairie City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
