Wayne Edmund Renaud, 84, of Pella died Thursday, Dec. 25, at Pella Regional Health Center in Pella.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Berean Baptist Church in Pella with James Hyland speaking. Visitation began at 4 p.m. Sunday and continued today at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella, where the family will be present from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight.

Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Memorials will be accepted to Bible Truth Publishers.

The son of Aaron J. and Lena G. (Versteegh) Renaud, Mr. Renaud was born Feb. 22, 1919, south of Sully on the Mahaska County and Jasper County line. Mr. Renaud attended the Ironclad School and graduated from the 8th grade. He served in the United States Army from May 11, 1942, to Oct. 15, 1945, during which time he served as a medic in Africa and Italy.

On April 11, 1950, Mr. Renaud was united in marriage with Ruth Arlene Elwood. They adopted a great-niece, Bronwyn A. (Bunny) Williams, in 1965. Mr. Renaud farmed in the Reasnor, Colfax, Prairie City, New Sharon and Tracy areas all his life. In July of 2003, he retired and moved to Pella.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years; a son, Thomas Wayne of Tracy; three sisters, Josephine Dena Renaud of Pella, Reva Hazel (Kenneth) McDaniel of Des Moines and Carrie "Helen" (James) Robert of Gresham, Ore.; a brother, Howard Adrian Renaud of Pella; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Margaret (John) Breuklander of Pella, Dorothy and Paul Renaud of Pella and Lois (Robert) Albee of Newton; and many friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bunny Renaud; his parents; two sisters, Ruth Alyda and Erma Jane Renaud; an infant brother; two sisters-in-law, Luretta (Jacob) Stiernemann and Martha (Harold) Ginther; and a brother-in-law, Gilbert Elwood.
