Mike M. Morris, 46, of 607 1st St. S. died of complications of diabetes Thursday, Dec. 4, at his home in Newton.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Reformed Church in Newton with the Rev. Neal S. Busker officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Baxter. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the American Diabetes Association or to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Marvin E. and Sally Jo (Stubbe) Morris, he was born Feb. 4, 1957, in Newton. He graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1975. He was a carpenter and realtor for Morris Construction and ERA Real Estate. He enjoyed auto racing, motorcycles, antiques and collectibles and spending time with his family. Mr. Morris was a member of the Community Reformed Church and was a former deacon.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip Morris and Adam Morris, both of Newton; his parents; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Meri Morris of Grimes and Shane and Kristin Morris of Manchester; a sister, Jackie Morris of Woodbury, Minn.; and a niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
