RUNNELS -- Wendell B. Miller, 78, of Runnells, formerly of Jasper County, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Burial will be at Lowman Cemetery in Runnells.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The son of Josiah and Lydia (Rosenthal) Miller, he was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Vandalia. On Sept. 15, 1944, he married Mermelle West in Des Moines. He lived in Prairie City many years before moving to Runnells. He worked in the parts department for Gibbs-Cook Equipment Company in Des Moines. He retired in 1985.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David Miller of Des Moines; a brother, Wayne Miller of Newton; and a sister, Noma Brunner of Prairie City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
