OSKALOOSA - Marie E. McKibbin, 93, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Newton and the Grinnell area, died Thursday, Nov. 20, at Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with the Rev. Dennis Dorsheimer of the Jackson Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

Memorials will be accepted to the Marie E. McKibbin Memorial Fund.

The daughter of Clarence and Alta (Young) Blair, she was born April 21, 1910, on her family farm in Rock Creek Township, Jasper County. She later moved with her family to Sydney and was a graduate of Sydney High School. On Jan. 6, 1937, she married James F. McKibbin in Rockport, Mo. The couple lived in Brooklyn for several years before moving to a farm in Rock Creek Township in 1939. She later moved to Grinnell in 1962 and to Newton in the late 1960’s. She was a resident of Oskaloosa since 2000. She was employed as a cook, waitress and cashier at several restaurants and as a seamstress at a tailor shop in Grinnell. While living in Newton, she was employed at Pamida and as a cook at the Newton Motor Inn. She was a member of the Farm Bureau, Victor Grange in Rock Creek Township and was active with 4-H.

Survivors include three children, Donna Corbin of Montezuma, James McKibbin of
Cedar Rapids and Susan Bierman of Des Moines; one sister, Ruth Vorhies of Newton; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Esther Blair and Velma Robinson; four brothers, Bud, Zeke, Keith and Richard Blair; and her former husband.
