Anna May Jenkins, 58, of Newton, died Thursday, Dec. 18, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Community Reformed Church in Newton with Rev. Neal Busker officiating. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials in her name may be left at the funeral home or at the church on the day of the service.

The daughter of Charles and Marsella (Bannister) Samson, she was born April 14, 1945 in Des Moines. She received her LPN from Marshalltown Community College and worked as a home health aide, medical transcriptionist, CAN, medical aide and LPN. She also previously worked at Clearview Manor in Prairie City and at the Embassy Manor. On April 4, 1964, she married Dean E. Jenkins in Prairie City. She lived in Prairie City prior to moving to Newton in 1976. She was a membr of Community Reformed Church in Newton.

Survivors include her parents; husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Judy Jenkins of Tipton and Dwain and Danette Jenkins of Colfax; a daughter and son-in-law, Alisha and Hugh Gardner of Newton; five grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Marilyn Samson of Prairie City and Ralph and Kim Samson of Lacona; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and a brother, Andew Samson, in infancy.
