COLFAX - Laura M. Hallacy, 92, of Colfax died of heart failure Thursday, Jan. 16, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax with the Rev. Paul Elliott officiating. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Howard Street Christian Church.

The daughter of Henry and Mamie (Hester) Riley, she was born March 4, 1910, in Colfax. On March 25, 1939, she married Edward Joseph Hallacy in Charles City. She worked at Newton Manufacturing and Dunlap Manufacturing and was a member of Howard Street Christian Church. She lived northwest of Newton prior to moving into Colfax in 1976.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.
