Phyllis (Danley) Hackley, 72, of rural Indianola died Friday, Dec. 26, at her home of pneumonia.

Funeral services were held today at 1 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Lacona. Visitation was held Sunday. Memorials will be accepted to the Milo Rescue Unit.

The daughter of Carl Danley and Ila (Anthony) Lunnon, she was born Feb. 3, 1931, in Newton. Mrs. Hackley attended Drake University and studied to be an attorney. She married William Hackley, and she worked as a supervisor for a telemarketing company in Des Moines and also as a seamstress. After retiring, she assisted her son at East Des Moines Shoe and Leather Repair.

Mrs. Hackley enjoyed arts, crafts, sewing and living in the country.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce of Centerville and William of Indianola; two daughters, Renee Snodgrass of Lacona and Ruth Porter of Sarasota, Fla.; her grandchildren; her brother, R. Dean Danley of Newton; her half-sister, Kathy Danley of Newton; and two half-brothers, Dennis Danley of Garden Grove and Randall Danley of Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, William Danley; an infant twin sister; and three sets of infant twins.
