Louis P. Frahm, 85, of 210 E. 19th St. N., died Monday, Dec. 1 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Pastor Jim Olson of Zoar Church in rural Newton officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in rural Newton.

Friends may call Wednesday after 1 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Zoar Church or Hospice of Jasper County and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Herman John Henry and Conradena Sophia (Herzog) Frahm, he was born Dec. 23, 1917 in rural Newton. He attended Salem and Hope Ridge Country Schools and graduated from Newton High School in 1937. On May 30, 1948 he married Bevery J. Staker in Davenport. He was a farmer and a bus driver for the Newton Community School District for 16 1/2 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Zoar Church in rural Newton.

Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Kelvin R. and Connie Frahm of Kellogg; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy E. and John Kelting of Waterloo; three step-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marjorie Morris.
