COLFAX - Mary Belle Faidley, 80, a long time resident of Colfax, died Friday, Nov. 14, in Austin, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church with the Rev. Paul Elliott officiating. Burial will be at McKeever Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday after 2 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax where the family will be available from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Howard Street Christian Church, Colfax-Mingo Schools or the Colfax Senior Citizen Center.

The daughter of Gabe Atlas and Noda Wilma [West]Johnson, she was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Cathey, Okla. After graduating from Liberty High School in Okmulgee County, Okla., she attended Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, where she met Kenneth Glenn Faidley of Colfax. They were married Oct. 10, 1942, in Corpus Christi, Texas, where her husband was stationed in the United States Navy. They made their home in Colfax from 1945 until moving to Austin, Texas, to be near their daughter. After raising four children, Mary returned to school and trained to become a nurse's aid and then a ward clerk at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She was an active member of the Howard Street Christian Church and involved in many community affairs.

Survivors include her husband; a sister and brother- in-law, Evelyn and Bill Boulton of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Guy and Mary George Johnson of Dallas, Texas; her children, Allan and Barbara Faidley of Winterset, Roger and Mary Faidley of Harrington, Wash., Sherry and Gene Healy of Austin, Texas, Richard Faidley of Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three brothers-in-Iaw, Myron Faidley of Mitchellville, Loren Faidley of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ray Faidley and his wife Phyllis of Colfax; and three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Maxwell of Des Moines, Marvel Baxter and her husband Robert of Boise, Idaho, and Esther Faidley of Newton.
