Dave DeCook, 96, formerly of Pella, died Tuesday, Dec. 23 at Careage of Newton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of the Third Reformed Church in Pella with Pastor Drew Schmidt officiating. Internment will be made in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Visitation will begin Friday at 6 p.m. at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home. Family visitation and a luncheon will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the Third Reformed Church. Memorials may be given for the Dave A. Cook Memorial Fund to be used for the Pella community bench program.

Mr. DeCook operated a dry cleaning establishment in Sigourney and, after returning to Pella, was employed at Stravers Hardware.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Koob of Algona; a son, Larry DeCook of Newton; eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn Showman, who died Monday, Dec. 22.
