PELLA - Berniece De Vries, 83, of Pella, formerly of Sully, died of congestive heart failure Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Pella Regional Health Center Long Term Care Unit in Pella.

Funeral services will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at the Faith Christian Reformed Church in Pella. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella is handling arrangements.

Memorials will be accepted to Willing Workers Society of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church of Pella, the Pella Christian Grade School or the Pella Christian High School.

The daughter of Kornelius and Grietje (Wielinga) Boersma, she was born Dec. 29, 1919, in Suawoude, Friesland, The Netherlands. She married Jacob De Vries and was a homemaker. She lived in Sully for a time and lived north of Pella until moving into Pella in 1971. She enjoyed, knitting and crocheting. Mrs. De Vries was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella and a former member of the Sully Christian Reformed Church in Sully.

Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Gerdena Swenson of Story City, Kathy and Marvin Roozeboom of Pella, Marlene and Roger Bruxvoort of Reasnor and Cornelia and Loren Vander Wilt of Pella; a son, Johnny De Vries of Oskaloosa; a sister, Metje Inia of Friesland. The Netherlands; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great -grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons.
