Rites Monday For Robison
Funeral services were held Monday at the United Presbyterian church for Fred Robison, who died at Newton Friday. Mr. Robison’s death resulted from a heart attack from which he rallied for a few days.
The services were officiated by the Rev. Ralph M. Donaldson. Special music was provided by H. C. Dickman, vocal soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Ben Van Wyk.
Bearers were John Dykstra, Cornie Klootwyk, Carol Munger, Donald Stone, Harold Terpstra and Elmer Williams. Flower helpers were Mrs. Harold Terpstra and Mrs. Donald Stone.
Obituary
Fred Robison, son of Jasper and Phoebe Robison was born in Marion county, August 18, 1884, and grew to manhood in the vicinity of Percy. He passed away at Skiff hospital in Newton at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 29 days.
On March 4, 1908, he was united in marriage to Christena Robus at Red Rock. To this union three children were born, Bessie (Mrs. Tone Aalbers), Celia (Mrs. Elbert Moore), and Tony. For 15 years he was employed by the Wabash Railways at Fifield and after moving to the Monroe community, he was engaged in farming and later resided in Monroe and was employed by the Parsons company at Newton for four years.
He was preceded in death by his wife on September 27, 1947.
Besides his children he is survived by 13 grandchildren, one half-brother, Ray Mikesell, and one half-sister, Pearl Mikesell of Knoxville and several nieces and nephews.
He was a kind and loving father and will be missed by those who knew him.
