Monroe News – Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist Church for Robert James Wilson, 91, who died in Des Moines Wednesday, August 13, after being in ill health for some time. Mr. Wilson was born in Pittsburgh, Penn., on Feb. 24, 1850, and came with his parents to Jasper County at the age of 19. Since that time which is over 70 years, he has made his home in and near Monroe.
He is survived by a sister, Anna, two nephews, Wilson Throckmorton of Montezuma and John Throckmorton, Monroe, one niece, Mrs. Helen Dahlgren, Des Moines and a cousin, Mrs. Alice Dibel, Monroe. Funeral services was in charge of Rev. Barnstable of Des Moines, formerly of Monroe. Interment was in the Monroe cemetery.
