Monroe News – Funeral services were held at the Crumpacker Funeral Home Tuesday for George M. Gifford, 69, of Des Moines who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. V. Stringer at Farnhamville, Iowa. Besides Mrs. Stringer, another daughter, Mrs. Tom Nicholson of Omaha, and a son, Earl of Des Moines survive. Gifford was a former Monroe resident.
