Bricker, Lenora May Lofton – 1874-1946

Lenora May Bricker, daughter of William J. and Mary M. Lofton, was born April 9, 1874 in Johnson County, Kansas, and passed away Saturday morning July 27, 1946 at the home of her daughter, Ethel Bricker, at Monroe, Iowa, at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 18 days.
The deceased moved to Illinois with her parents, near Bushnell, when but a small child and resided there through childhood. She lived near Good Hope until her marriage to Emmert Calvin Bricker Feb. 27, 1895. They made their home in Illinois until 1901, when they came to Iowa and lived in Newton and Killduff a few years. They then moved to a farm south of Monroe, Iowa in 1904 where they have resided since.
To this union five children were born, one son Leslie Harold having died in infancy. Mrs. Bricker is survival by four children, Clarence R. Bricker of Otley, Mrs. Leo Allard of Knoxville, Ethel Bricker of Monroe and Mrs. Murray Van Hemmert of near Cordova, two sisters, Mrs. Ina I. Han of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Pearl Camp of Mt. Dora, Florida; also six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her husband preceded her in death May 30, 1946. She was a member of the United Brethren Church in Illinois.
She had been in ill health for some time, and spent several weeks at the hospital. She was given all the care and attention that loving hands could give her. She devoted her time to her home and family, always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a good wife and made many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 29, at 2 p.m. from the Baptist Church at Monroe cemetery.
