Mrs. Clara Kling, daughter of Adam J. and Mary Wieldman Kling was born in Jasper County, Iowa, and passed away at the Skiff Hospital in Newton, Iowa after a short illness. Mrs. Kling was the last of the Adam J. Kling family. Mr. Kling was a Monroe Veterinarian in the Monroe vicinity for many years. At an early age she united with the Monroe Methodist Church, which she attended when health permitted.
Mrs. Kling is survived by many nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by her parents, husband and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at the Monroe Methodist Church on Sunday, April 7, 1957, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Orin H. Young officiating. Interment was made in the Monroe Cemetery. Acting as casket bearers were Mr. Merlin Schnug, Mr. Harold Schnug, Mr. Freeman Kling, Mr. Henry Peery, Mr. George Peery, and Mr. Elmer Peery. Two selections were rendered, “God’s Tomorrow” and “No Night There” by Mrs. William Lewis, accompanied by Mrs. R. B. Gloyd. In charge of flowers were Mrs. James Munson and Mrs. Theresa Bartlett.
