Hold Funeral of Robert Baker at Monroe, Sat.
Funeral services for Robert Baker, 76, who died Thursday at his home in Monroe, were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at home. Interment was in the cemetery near there.
Mr. Baker was born in Holland and came here at the age of 22 years. He was the father of Mrs. Neal Heemstra, who lives northwest of Otley.

Mortuary – Robert Baker, who was born in Friesland in 1866 passed away at his home in Monroe after a long lingering illness on April 16th, 1936. Mr. Baker came to America when he was a young man, 23 years old. In 1895 he was united in marriage to Effie Poortinga who with their two daughters, Mrs. Edith Heemstra and Mrs. Eva Shannon survive him. Also four grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Albert Vander Ploeg at the home on Saturday, April 18th.
Pall bearers were Jess Rinehart, George Ramage, Bert Hough, John Anderson, Jacob Tuinstra and Frank Whitted.
Burial was in Monroe cemetery.
