Monroe News – Mrs. Mary Klootwyk, 74, passed away June 14, at the Collins hospital in Knoxville. Mary Ver Heul was born near Pella, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Sarah Ver Heul. In 1891 she was united in marriage to Rean Terpstra who died in January, 1927. In 1928 she was married to Tunis Klootwyk who preceded her in death in 1938. Mrs. Klootwyk united with the Fairmount Methodist church when a young woman.
Surviving relatives are four brothers, Frank Ver Heul, Des Moines; James Ver Heul, Monroe; Charles Ver Heul, Mitchellville; Arie Ver Heul, Newton, and two sisters, Mrs. John Anderson, Monroe, and Mrs. Arthur Thomasson of Long Beach, California.
Funeral services were conducted from the Christian Church in Knoxville, conducted by Rev. M. M. Pace. Burial was in the Monroe cemetery.
