Rexroat, Minnie Sarah Strahn – 1870-1938

Mrs. Frank Rexroat – Minnie Sarah Strahn, daughter of James and Charlotta Strahn was born at Atlantic, Iowa, June 28, 1870 and departed this life at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa at 10:55, Nov. 21, 1938. She died at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 26 days from a nervous breakdown and complications.
On November 8, 1900 she was united in marriage to Frank Rexroat, who preceded her in death last April. She leaves to mourn her death seven living children and eight grandchildren. The surviving children are: Mrs. Freda Nolin and David of Monroe, Ia., Mrs. Marguerite De Hoedt of Pleasantville, Ia., Mrs. Helen Waits of Lacona, Ia., and Walter, Donald and Fern, at home; one child preceded her in death, dying in infancy. She also leaves to mourn her death four sisters and one brother, Zetta of Arkansas, Margaret and Jim of Waverly, Nebraska, Mrs. Jim Laird of Reasnor and Mrs. Ethel Hodgekins of Raco, Nebraska.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rexroat were held Wed., Nov. 23rd at the Otley Reformed church, Rev. Roozeboom in charge. “Abide With Me” and “Safe In The Arms of Jesus,” favorite songs of the deceased were sung by Lorene Ford and Oretha Green with Dorothy Van Ryswyk at the piano. Pallbearers were Rean Verwers, William Zegers, G. Klein, Jasper DeRaad, Rene Van Englenhoven and Dirk Weyerse. Interment was in Fairview cemetery, east of Monroe.
