Smith – Brief funeral services for Mrs. Ernest Smith, who died at the Sheldon-Munn hotel, Friday morning, will be held at 11 a.m. from the Adams chapel, following which the body will e taken to the Union Chapel cemetery near Mingo, Jasper county, for services and burial. The Rev. Gerald Flynn of Des Moines will officiate. Mrs. Smith was born at Baxter, and had lived in Ames 15 years. She leaves her husband, one daughter, Lela of Ames; a sister, Mrs. D. J. Bullock and a brother, Arthur Randles, both of Des Moines. She had been prominent in the work of the Pythian Sisters and the Women’s Relief Corps.
