Colfax – Irene A. Edwards, 83, died Thursday Sept. 10, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home, with burial at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton.
Mrs. Edwards was born June 16, 1916, to Anthon and Anna Goshe Fabor. She married Lyle Elmer Edwards Nov. 4, 1940, in Kirksville, Mo.
She is survived by one son, Richard of Colfax, a daughter, Marsha Hoff of Pleasant Hill, two sisters, Edna Phelps and Maude Oldfield, both of Belle Plaine; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, and nine brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Edwards lived in Colfax since 1940 and was a member of the Elks Club and American Legion Auxiliary.
