Mildred Irene Gidley, 87, of Story City died of complications of a stroke Thursday at Bethany Manor there. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany Manor Care Center in Story City.
Mrs. Gidley was born in Des Moines and lived in Newton from 1934 until 1991, when she moved to Story City. She retired from Maytag Co. and was a member of Northriver Methodist Church in Norwalk, Newton Iketts and Pythian Sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Jo Jonas of Silverthorne, Colo., and Gaylin Stone of Ames; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton, where the family will be present from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Manor in Story City.
