Helen S. Busby, 71, of 533 W. 9th St. N., died of heart failure, Monday, April 14, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Frederick Kramer, chaplain of Skiff Medical Center in Newton, officiating. Burial will be in Union Mills Cemetery in Union Mills.
Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home in Newton after 2 p.m. Wednesday until the time of services on Thursday. There will be no family visitation.
Memorials to the American Heart Association will be accepted.
The daughter of John and Nina (White) Hensley, she was born Sept. 9, 1924, in Sweetwater, Tenn. She graduated from high school in Sweetwater, Tenn.
She married Donald R. Busby Nov. 22, 1945 in Rossville, Ga.
Mrs. Busby was employed as a sales clerk by JC Penney’s in Newton and also as a waitress. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine and the Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Potter of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1983; three brothers; and a sister.
