Melbourne – Funeral services for Jim Richard Fuchs, 61, of Melbourne were held today, Sept. 21, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter.
The Rev. Tom Carpe, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. Bob Hinshaw, pastor of Ashton Chapel, conducted services. Burial was in Ashton Cemetery.
Masonic services were held Sunday at the Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.
Memorials in his name may be left at the funeral home.
He died Thursday following a heart attack suffered while driving on Iowa-330 in Jasper County.
Survivors are his wife, Betty; four sons, Darrel of Ogden, Utah, Randy of Baxter, Eugene of Conrad and William of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Mary (Mrs. Gerald) Maxwell of Collins, Lois (Mrs.. Dennis) Bucklin of Baxter and Jane (Mrs. Mike) Hanson of Roland; and 21 grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, William and Robert, both of Laurens, and Darlow of Englewood, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a grandson.
Mr. Fuchs, who was employed in agricultural sales for Grinstead Swine Service of Cameron, Mo., was a member of the Ashton Chapel and the Baxter Masonic Lodge.
The son of William and Alice Marie Kemp Fuchs, he was born Oct. 26, 1930 in Redwood Falls, Minn., and was raised and educated in Laurens.
He was married to Betty Lou Chambers Oct. 27, 1949 in Ayrshire.
