Tietje Eilander, 82, of 604 S. 11th Ave. W. died of heart failure Thursday morning, July 11, at Skiff Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. The Rev. A. B. Sudbrock, pastor of the Baptist Temple of Newton, will conduct services.
Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in rural Newton.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Friday. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials in her name will be accepted.
Mrs. Eilander was a 25-year employee of the Maytag Company, retiring April 30, 1976 from the sheet metal department. She was a member of the UAW Local 997.
A lifelong resident of Jasper County, Mrs. Eilander was born April 3, 1914 in Lynnville. She was the daughter of Henry and Henrietta Sloterdyke Eilander.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Janice of Ankeny; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and three step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Annie Thompson of Newton and Clarice (Mrs. Fred) Blake of Des Moines; and a brother and his wife, Bill and Wilma Eilander of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Berl, Hank and Garrett; and a sister in infancy.
