Services Held In Washington For Mary M. Batey
Funeral services for Mary M. Batey, 57, of Quincy, Washington, were held Monday, Aug. 22, 1988, from the Church of the Nazarene in Quincy. Concluding services and interment were held in the Quincy Valley Cemetery.
Mrs. Batey died Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Central Washington Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Mary M. Lawton on April 25, 1931 in Colfax, Ia. to Bert and Mildred Lawton. She attended schools and graduated from Colfax. She married Jessie Louis Batey on Nov. 7, 1959 in Blytheville, Ark. She moved to Quincy in 1978, where she worked at Lamb-Weston until 1985.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Quincy.
Survivors are 5 sons, Jessie Wayne and Douglas Craig of Quincy, James Michael of MCRD Parris Island, S. Car., Dale Lynn of Ft. Bliss, Tex. and Daniel Lee of MCB Camp LeJeune, N.C.; two daughters, Cheryl Lawton of Quincy and Margaret Thompson of Bunker, Mo.; 3 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Keith Lawton, Long Beach, Calif. and Bert Lawton, Jr., also of Long Beach; and 2 sisters, Esther Krohn, Cheland and Alice Whitney, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers.
