Edward Daft Dies Friday
Funera services for Edward Daft, 67, a lifelong resident of the Washington Center neighborhood near Mitchellville were held Sunday, July 25, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Robert Jones, pastor of the Christian Church in Colfax, conducted services. Burial was in the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
Survivors are his wife, Helen; a son, Stanley of Prairie City; two daughters, Mrs. Marion (Barbara) Terlouw of Prairie City and Nancy Daft of Colfax; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Edna) Buwalda of Pella and Mrs. lewis (Elsie) Hadsall of Colfax.
Mr. Daft, a retired farmer, was a member of the Christian church in Colfax.
The son of Clifton and Lydia Rose Daft, he was born April 24, 1900 at Colfax.
He was married to Helen May Price February 13, 1924, at Newton.
He died Friday, July 23, at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Organist: Mrs. Larry Baird.
Bearers: Charles Findley, Edward Brandhof, Melvin Guy, Lee Schmitt, Frank Tiffany, Robert Russell.
Flower Committee: Miss Mabie Kaldenberg, Miss Dorothy Pigg.
