Mrs. Mary Hunter Dies July 5, 1964 at Newton
Mrs. Mary (Polly) Hunter, 83, a resident of this city since 1905, died Sunday morning, July 5, 1964 at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton, following a short illness. She had been in the hospital three days at the time of death.
The daughter of Joseph and Ruth Fox, she was born at Tipton, Staffordshire, England, October 17, 1880. She received her education at the Tipton school.
She was married to George Edward Hunter, August 25, 1901, at Tipton, Staffordshire, England. The couple came to the United States, November 29, 1905 and settled at Colfax, where they spent the remainder of their lives.
Mrs. Hunter was a member of the Church of England. She was also a long time member of the Pocahontas Lodge of Colfax.
