Every so often God puts angels on this earth and you, dear Marvy, was one of them. It was a sunny spring day the 21st of April 1934 when our Creator sent you forth to become his earthly angel. The time set forth for your job here on earth was relatively short, but it was a job carried out to the fullest extent, from beginning to end. You faltered not, but set about your task with the swiftness and surety of God’s hand.
Loved by all who really knew you, young and old alike, little children adored you as much as you loved them. Your qualities of leadership and perseverance were insurmountable, shown many, many times in your active sports career.
You asked for so little yet gave ever so much in return; every sharing, ever consoling. Everyone’s burdens were yours – you wanting always to carry them yourself.
When you left home a little over a year ago to make California your home, you made the land of sunshine even brighter. In the establishment where you worked, everyone from the lowest to the highest employee loved you dearly. They came in numbers to stand outside the hospital to pray, while your valiant heart fought on to live. But God is good; God is loving, and above all, God is just, so he called for you and with him, you entered the Kingdom of Heaven. You were once again with your Creator and Home. A Home that knows no limitations of peace, love and happiness.
Your job here on earth had been successfully completed and you were called to join the angelic ranks in the heaven above.
Our stars go down to rise on some far distant shore and shine as jewels in the crown of Heaven.
Yes, Marvy, truly you were an angel on earth, as you now are in Heaven above.
God bless you, darling.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, November 27th in Colfax, with burial in the Colfax cemetery.
