Clive – Henry J. Kaldenberg, 77, of Clive, formerly of Colfax, died of heart failure Sunday, June 16, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist church in Colfax with the Rev. Jill Flyr officiating. The body will be cremated. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the church where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Iowa Heart Center.
The son of Virgil Claire and Genevieve R. (Snow) Kaldenberg, he was born Dec. 15, 1924, in Colfax. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1942 and earned a degree in mechanical engineering at Iowa State University. On June 22, 1946, he married Margaret Cross in Colfax. He served in the 11th Airborne of the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Kaldenberg was a mechanical engineer for the Maytag Company and retired in 1989.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark of Des Moines; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen Ann and Eli Ewanco of Florissant, Mo., and Karen Lynn and Bill Riggs of Labadie, Mo.; one grandchild; and a sister, Jill Ann Black of Long Beach, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
