Colfax – James H. Pease, 74, of Colfax died Tuesday, July 30, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Colfax Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Patricia summers and the Rev. Marvin Potter officiating. Burial will be at McKeever Cemetery in Colfax. Walters-Coburn funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements.
Friends may call Friday after noon at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted to Colfax Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Jasper county.
The son of Claire E. and Verla (Kern) Pease, he was born June 29, 1928, in Colfax. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1946 and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On March 12, 1948, he married Agnes Conn in Colfax. He farmed and owned a plumbing and electrical business. Mr. Pease was a member of Colfax Presbyterian Church and served as a trustee, a member of Poweshiek Township Cemetery Board, Colfax American Legion and also served as a 4-H leader.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Danette Pease of Colfax; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Mike Luppes of Hayden, Colo.; two grandchildren; a brother, Robert Pease of Colfax; a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Martin Wenes of Watertown, S.D.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
