Charles Wesley Rawlins, 90, died on Thursday September 04, 1997, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Baxter. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 7, at 2:00 p.m., at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax, with the Rev. Jill Flyr officiating. Burial was in McKeever Cemetery in Colfax.
Mr. Rawlins was born near Joplin, Missouri on September 11, 1906, the son of Albert James and Mary Isabell Reamer Rawlins.
On April 16, 1938, he was united in marriage to Ethel Lloyd in Des Moines.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Rawlins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Norma Rawlins and Dennis and Karen Rawlins, all of Colfax. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Denise and Christy Rawlins and Skylar Rawlins, and one brother, Archie Rawlins of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers and four sisters.
He retired from the Maytag Company in 1968 after 26 years of service.
