Kathryn Rose Morgan, 76, of Maxwell, Iowa, died Monday, July 17, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax with Rev. Phil Cardenzana. Burial will be at McKeever Cemetery near Colfax.
She was born December 1, 1923 in Colfax to Sam and Matilda Karpan Bolen. Kathryn was a 1941 graduate of Colfax High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College and received a degree from Drake University.
Kathryn was united in marriage to Harry Morgan on June 26, 1943 in Colfax. She lived in the Maxwell area for 50 years and in Colfax prior to that.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Colfax and was a member of the Friendship Force, and had been a 4-H leader.
She was a teacher in Maxwell, St. Josephs Elementary School in Des Moines and the Woodward State School.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Morgan; two sons, John J. Morgan of Des Moines and James Clifford Morgan of Maxwell; two daughters, Jean and husband Mark Jennings of Prairie City and Marianne M. Peterson of Des Moines; eleven grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Purcell of Santa Rosa, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.
Memorials to Alter and Rosary Society of her church will be accepted.
