William Dunsbergen, the son of Case and Beca Elanga Dunsbergen, was born December 20th, 1915, at Kellogg, Iowa, and died Thursday evening, November 26th, 1981 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
He married Anna Marie VanderHorst in 1935 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Bill was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church of Colfax. He was serving as a Deacon in the Church at the time of his death. He took an active part in the Sand Hill Grange.
Those left to honor his memory are: his wife, Anna; his sons, Dale of Des Moines, Earl of Ankeny, and Gary of Colfax; his daughter, Mrs. Robert (Judy) Floss of Baxter, 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren; his brothers, Cornie of Lynnville and Dick of Burns, Wyoming; his sister, Mrs. Ray (Mabel) Jay of Bethany, Oklahoma; his mother, Madge Dunsbergen, of Lynnville, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1970, his mother in 1924 (when he was nine years old), and his daughter, Norma Jean Burton in 1973.
Bill grew up on the farm and has enjoyed working in the out-of-doors, and with the soil, tending to his crops all his years of farming.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 30th at 10:30 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian church in Colfax. The Rev. John McKinstry pastor of the church conducted the services. Interment was in McKeever Cemetery in rural Colfax.
Mrs. Robert Riley was the soloist; Mrs. Larry Baird was the organist.
Larry Beals was an honorary pall bearer.
Pallbearers were Ralph Birkenholtz, Delwin Cross, Durlyn F. Lester, Robert Luther, Kenneth Warrick and Sam Warrick.
In charge of flowers were Mrs. Delwin Cross, Mrs. Durlyn F. Lester, Mrs. Robert Luther, Mrs. Kenneth Warrick and Mrs. Sam Warrick.
Wallace Funeral Home of Newton handled arrangements.
